(Duluth, MN) – 8th District Congressional Candidate Tarryl Clark's campaign announced today it brought in $232,128 in the second quarter of this year (April 1st – June 30th). With over 11,980 contributors so far, including almost 3,750 in the last quarter, Tarryl Clark alone has the grassroots strength to take on Congressman Chip Cravaack in November.
“Our continued fundraising success keeps Tarryl on course to win the August Primary and to defeat Chip Cravaack in November,” said Joe Fox, Clark's campaign manager. “With over 94% of our donors giving $100 or less at a time, it is clear Tarryl’s message resonates with our thousands of middle class supporters. They know we need a persistent, energetic leader like Tarryl to stand up to the Tea Party’s extreme agenda.”
He went on to say, “These grassroots supporters are giving again and again and will continue to power the campaign through November.”
Clark continues to campaign aggressively throughout the 8th district, talking about creating and protecting jobs in Northeast and Central Minnesota and strengthening Medicare and Social Security. In the week following her 2nd quarter fundraising deadline, Clark and her husband Doug walked, ran and shook hands in 10 parades across the region and campaigned at countless other events along the way.
Clark’s campaign has run three TV ads over the past four weeks in the lead up to the August 14th primary election. The ads entitled “Community”, “Iron Range” and “Doug” focus on her adult lifetime spent working to strengthen the communities of Central and Northeast Minnesota.
“Residents of the 8th District want a clear choice in this November’s election,” continued Fox. “Tarryl is the only candidate in this race who has spent the last 24 years fighting for middle class families in Central and Northeast Minnesota. Cravaack has spent his time in Congress making sure that it’s the big corporations and millionaires that get all of the breaks.”
