Defending Our Rights

I will fight to protect our rights from the attacks coming from the radical Tea Party movement. Whether it’s the right to organize and collectively bargain that has come under assault from Wisconsin to Ohio – and is a prime target for Minnesota Republicans this year – or women’s right to make their own health care decisions, we have to stand strong against the onslaught of attacks on our rights. I’m proud to be endorsed by our Steelworkers, womenwinning and EMILY’s List (among others) that all know I will continue to fight to protect these rights in Congress. A key step to doing this is reforming our elections to ensure that Big Corporations aren’t buying representatives with massive, undisclosed ‘Super PAC’ spending. I will fight for a Constitutional Amendment overturning the ‘Citizens United’ decision allowing unlimited spending by corporations in our elections. The people are supposed to decide who is elected- not the Big Businesses that are bankrolling the Tea Party.
