Duluth, MN – Today, 8th District Congressional Candidate Tarryl Clark’s campaign released her fourth TV ad entitled “Our Minnesota”. The 30-second ad can be viewed here:
The ad focuses on her adult lifetime spent in service to her community, starting with her founding the Central Minnesota Habitat for Humanity, which she took from zero to over four hundred volunteers in one year as its first director. The ad additionally emphasizes the work she did as the Assistant Majority Leader in the Minnesota State Senate protecting jobs from going overseas.
“The people in Washington have forgotten what it’s like to be part of a community,” says Clark in the ad.
Clark has made Congressman Chip Cravaack’s many votes giving tax breaks to companies that ship jobs overseas a central issue in the race. “We should be using that money to help small business create jobs here at home, not as a reward for laying-off our neighbors,” she said.
Clark also affirms her commitment to fighting to protect Medicare and Social Security in the ad.
“A promise was made that we’re going to keep,” says Clark in the ad. “If you say you’re going to do something, you do it.”
Congressman Cravaack has voted repeatedly for the Republican’s “Ryan Budget” which would end Medicare and replace it with a patchwork of vouchers that will increasingly force seniors to pay more out of pocket for their healthcare. The plan passes the savings on to the 1%, with even deeper tax cuts for those making over a million dollars in a year.
“As I campaign across the district, voters keep telling me that Washington is giving big corporations all of the breaks,” said Clark. “They want someone who will go to Washington to fight for them, and that’s exactly what I’ll do in Congress.”
Tarryl Clark continues to campaign throughout Minnesota’s 8th Congressional District to unseat Freshman Tea Party Congressman Chip Cravaack. Tarryl was born in Norfolk, VA while her dad served in the U.S. Navy. She and her husband Doug raised their two sons in central Minnesota. Tarryl has worked and volunteered throughout central and northeastern Minnesota over the last 24 years including as a high school youth minister, founding director of central MN Habitat for Humanity, nonprofit senior citizen attorney, executive director of MN's Community Action Partnership, legislative leader, and most recently as national co-chair of the Jobs21! Campaign for the BlueGreen Alliance which brought her to Duluth in early 2011.
